Can I submit photos still in their albums?
Yes you may submit pictures still in albums. I will scan them in the order in the album and replace them in their original sequence. This does not apply to scrapbooking. Note that old photo albums may have brittle pages and I will handle all albums with care. Note that once a page is opened, at times it may not be returned in the same condition as the glue may have deteriorated.
Is there a minimum number of photos to scan?
Technically, no. Should you have only the one picture you wish to scan, it is possible to do that. But it is much more fun to scan at least 10 pictures to make it worthwhile!
My negatives are old and brittle, can they be scanned?
I will handle all submitted content with care and attention. However, sometimes, very old negatives or content that has been subjected to heat / cold / humidity may return poor quality pictures. The flat scanning fee will still apply - I will do my best to scan as much content as possible.
My pictures are old and grainy, can they be retouched?
I offer a basic photo retouching service - I will apply basic photo improvement features such as red-eye removal, basic lighting improvement and basic dust removal. Please note that I do not provide a full photo-restoration service - damaged / very old pictures may be best brought to a professional photo studio for full-restoration.
I have both the negatives and the printed picture version of a photo - which should I send?
You may still have your original 35mm negatives in the printed photo envelope. In this situation, I recommend sending both. Film negatives may degrade over time and you may find that a scanned copy of the picture yields a better picture than the negative.
How do my pictures get returned to me?
Ideally, we would meet in person to exchange pictures. I will provide a quote for shipping based on the number of pieces, between $5 and $25.
Can you remove people from a picture?
No. Please note that I do not provide Photo Editing services such as Photoshop or Lightroom - I offer standard photo scanning services as well as basic photo retouching services (red eyes removal, basic lighting improvement and basic dust removal).
